Following a tragic accident where he fails to save a raccoon, Ace Ventura retreats to a Tibetan monastery to seek spiritual enlightenment. He is eventually lured out of seclusion by Fulton Greenwall, a British diplomat who needs his help finding a missing sacred white bat named "Shikaka" in the fictional African country of Nibia.

Ace must locate the bat to prevent an all-out war between the Wachati and Wachootoo tribes. The investigation reveals a conspiracy by the consulate's chief, Vincent Cadby, who stole the bat to incite tribal conflict and seize land for its valuable guano deposits.
