On screen, Lieutenant Columbo—in that iconic, rumpled raincoat—didn't look at the suspect. He turned his head and looked directly into the camera. The subtitle at the bottom of the screen changed: COLUMBO: Just one more thing, Mr. Miller. COLUMBO: See, my wife, she loves these old shows

COLUMBO: You thought nobody saw you swap those hard drives last night? The ones with the original negatives?

Miller’s heart hammered. "It's a prank," he whispered. "The collector is messing with me."
