It updates the 2007 PSP original with stunning HD graphics, a fully rearranged soundtrack, and a revamped combat system that feels much closer to FFVII Remake . It follows Zack Fair, a member of SOLDIER, and provides the essential backstory to Cloud Strife and Sephiroth.

While it obviously doesn't hit the 4K fidelity of the PS5/PC versions, the Switch port is impressively stable. Square Enix used Unreal Engine 4 effectively here.
