Following a holographic trail, the cat enters an old laboratory and finds a small drone, B12 , which becomes its companion. B12 is damaged, having lost its memory, but can translate the companions’ language and interact with technology. The cat is seen as a strange curiosity,
The cat and B12 reach the Control Room at the very top. B12 overrides the system, opening the roof to the sky. However, the system's security locks in, causing B12 to drain its energy entirely, sacrificing itself to unlock the city. The cat and B12 reach the Control Room at the very top
The city is plunged into darkness, but the ceiling opens, flooding the area with natural light for the first time in centuries. The cat walks through the opening, exiting the decaying city and stepping out into the pristine, wild surface world, finally reunited with nature. Key Themes
The cat and B12 meet the "Outsiders," a small group of robots in the slums (Momo, Clementine, Zbaltazar, Doc) who dream of escaping to the surface. They need the cat’s agility to navigate dangers they cannot handle.
